In Plain Text, when a character string that seems to be a URL is double-clicked , I wish CherryTree to open this web site with default browser or custom browser.
Examples of strings considered as URL:

I’m sorry for confusing you by my poor expressions.

When using “Insert a Link / Edit the Underlying Link” in “Plain Text”, a warning “This Feature is Available Only in Rich Text Nodes” is displayed.

What I want is to interpret the string as a link and open it in the browser when clicking on a character string considered as a URL without inserting Link.

    Thank you for your consideration.

Sorry, I misunderstood and was testing in a rich text node.

Now in a rich text node you can insert a codebox to hold plain text (and code).

I have tested this (Execute CodeBox Code – sh) and it launches url in browser.

    sensible-browser "http://www.google.co.uk"

As far as I understand, to achieve the same effect in a plain text node (without adding code to CherryTree) would require running some external automation script (daemon), the choice depending on whether you use Windows or Linux. That is the approach I am using for other workflows I am building for my own use. i.e. CherryTree working with external tools.

Plain text nodes do not support links at the moment. It is feasible but other things have higher priority. @eureka note you can customise the link clicked action in the preferences
