    At the risk of straying off topic in this thread I have to explain why I prefer to use XML files (for my purposes) in CherryTree.

    Here I discussed the conversion of XML (or *.ctd) to TEI-Simple.

    Now I can create CherryTree files which are in XML format.

    I can use Pandoc to convert the *.ctd proprietary format to TEI-Simple.

    This file can be imported into eXist-db as an XML “collection”.

    Multiple collections can be loaded into eXist-db.

    Then as in this demo XQueries can be applied to any collection.
