Sometimes one types a search term that is too generic to have any sensible result, i.e. there are 1000s of “hits”. Example: the word “and”.
This can happen accidentally. When one sees Cherrytree starting to churning out the many hits, is there a possibility to stop the search while it is in progress?

This is currently not doable, but it might be a good idea to add this functionality. E g. pressing the esc key should cancel the search.

@cosmo: yes, I hope Giuseppe will eventually add the functionality because it has happened a couple of times, accidentally or not, that the search results in several 1000 instances. And will CT is spewing all that out it takes time and PC resources.
