  1. Any chance that you could change the way cherrytree accesses data? It seems that the whole database is loaded into memory (my memory us is currently 514MB).
Would be great if it were possible to cache (based on recent usage), or only load data when needed.

  2. cherrytree continues to be brilliant! I was a long-time KeyNote user until it ceased to function properly when I was forced to upgrade to Windoze 10. I migrated all my notes to cherrytree, and have never looked back!

Thank you for developing such a nice notetaking utility!

  3. found an issue: I have top node which contains various subnodes and it’s collapsed.
below that are some other top nodes, after drag & drop of a node the first top node gets expanded.

another issue: after duplicating a subnode a couple of times all of the sudden one becomes a bookmark.

enhancement request: move Import/Export menu into File menu to clean up the interface
enhancement request: option to change node icon is desperately missing

  4. Hi! Cherry is still the best, but could you add some convinient option? – To make the app to save the current note (if it was edited) when you minimize the program, or switch to the other one (Alt+Tab).
I know, there is Autosave. But it’s not the same. With “save-when-minimize” it’s will be no one chance to loose the important data

  5. Hey, just want to thank you for spending time and creating one of the best note-taking programs out there. I use this all the time, from journaling to school work to personal to-do lists. I love to see this piece of software develop and grow, but thanks for everything you’ve done to get it to this point.

  6. Just wanted to say thank you for developing this program! I’ve tested out 3 different note taking programs, but CherryTree is really superior in all aspects. I’m using it to structure my MA thesis in history and I’m having a blast. I only wish I’ve had known about it earlier, would have been much more effective than the multiple word or google documents I used for my BA thesis or the more complex term papers.

  7. @Steve: content is never lost when a window is minimised, not for Cherrytree, not for any other program, not for any other platform.

  8. Hi,
I’m seeing that when I start Cherrytree it consumes 850MB of RAM just at launch. I believe it is loading the entire database for all nodes. It would be great if it starts with no database loaded and loads in the data based on the node accessed and de-load the old node data after say ~1hr.

Cherrytree is the best straightforward and practical notetaking application I have found and would love to see it grow further
