Hi Giuseppe, thanks for the hard work.
I’d like to see smart quotes, aka the curly quotation marks and comma “”,, if possible.
I also use CherryTree to write journal entries and reflect, so I was thinking something that also could be added is being able to create a node (or subnode) with the date automatically as the name.

I´d like to second the request for smart quotes/double-quotes; a smart two-hyphens-to-dash would also be great.

please describe better this “smart quotes” feature, I know nothing about it.
about easy insertion of timestamp in node name that’s fine.

Word processors, like Microsoft Word and OpenOffice Writer, and blogging platforms use smart quotes (“ ”) and apostrophes (‘ ’). The difference is that they’re curly, rather than straight, and open and close differently depending on their placement. The reason being is for typographic purposes.
In text editors, like Notepad, and programming software, the quotes are all straight because it may interfere with code.
This might illustrate it better:

Hi, I will add smart quotes to the TODO list but at the moment my free time is almost null.
Cheers.
