That should have been “light green for items on monitor 1, yellow for items on monitor 2, light blue for items on monitor 3″. Add a default sort and the blocks of color jump right out. Rereading the my comment the color suggestion seemed ambiguous.
In other words, you may be able to pull off multi monitor distinction without messing with your blissfully simple interface.

I got your point, we’ll think about something.
Note that a third monitor is not handled for now as I’ve never met anybody using three monitors, but if people will start to use three monitors we’ll add the support.
