Hello to everybody!
I’ve started developing web app for viewing and editing CherryTree files.
Here is demo of pre-alpha version:

What do you think about this idea?27 September 2017 at 22:05 #124452
This is very exiting news! This will make it a lot easier to access and edit Cherry Tree on multiple devices. At the moment I use Cherry Tree on a PC and with PlayOnMac on a Mac, but access with a browser will be very helpful and hopefully also enable viewing on a tablet. Even though I have not installed NextCloud yet to try out the pre-alpha version, I wanted to express my excitement, as I see there have not been any reactions to your post after 2 days.28 September 2017 at 11:55 #124454
This is good news indeed!
Is this also compatible with owncloud?28 September 2017 at 13:31 #124455
Carel, thank you!
I already use app with plain-text nodes at work or in the mobile phone. (Only .ctb format is supported for now.)
When I turn on my home PC the changes immediately are downloaded. Even if computer was in hibernate mode and given ctb file is open in the CherryTree program.
If somebody is interested and don’t have time to install nextcloud/owncloud, I can create your personal accounts on my nextcloud installation with some quota of space.
Just interesting to share this experience.
philippHRO, yes, I’m going to support both owncloud & nextcloud.

Hi aldem, I would be very interested in trying out your app hosted on your Nextcloud! I havent installed a self hosted cloud yet, as I have many decisions to make before doing so. (Currently have esxi 6 with an embedded Napp-it(zfs) for file storage, but want to incorporate some sort of container system now such as docker and separate out the NAS as well, and then finally decide if I want own or next cloud, lol). So this would help on many levels as I can see a little of nextcloud first hand!! Thank you. You can email me at jssurvey100 (AT) outlook.com.
Also, your solution might help with this since its web based, but I just started using this program, and looking for an effective way to import whole or partial web pages and keep proper formatting but without converting to an image file. I used to use mybase and it had a plugin for importing web pages that was pretty good (had options for keeping or ommiting images, links, scripts, etc). Dont need the other functions but proper formatting and non image (so I can edit parts if needed) is desirable.1 October 2017 at 21:23 #124464
Hi, jimmyjam99! Thank you, I’ve sent credencials to you.12 October 2017 at 00:28 #124476
Hi aldem, interesting project 🙂 Please keep posted on the new versions on the forum12 October 2017 at 05:27 #124478
Hi giuspen, I have searched alot and have not found an answer. When trying to copy and paste web content, almost all formatting, etc is lost to where its almost unusable. Is there a better way or something I am missing?! This is crucial for me!

Hi jimmyjam99, this thread is about the web editor, so not the right place for this question, anyway the reality is that cherrytree is not good enough at html+css parsing at the moment30 November 2017 at 11:27 #124633
Would it be possible to make “demo.ctb” available at github instead of “cloud.aldem.ru” which requests a login ?
If not, I will see this later on ! (no problem).
Thanks.5 December 2017 at 09:22 #124654
Hello, @robver. Why do you need this in github? “demo.ctb” is simple CherryTree file.
Use such credentials for logging in:
